Radioactivity Measurement and Analysis and Radiation Protection
The Radioactivity and Trace Element Measurement and Analysis Service (SMART) was created in 1994, within a joint research unit (SUBATECH – UMR 6457), associating IMT Atlantique Bretagne-Pays de la Loire, CNRS-IN2P3, and Nantes University.
Leveraging its experienced team, SMART offers a complete range of services: on-site sampling, analysis, and expertise in the field of radioactivity measurement.

Equipment Fleet
SMART possesses a comprehensive range of high-performance equipment, suitable for the pre-treatment of solid or liquid samples for the detection of natural or artificial radionuclides. It features gamma/X-ray and alpha spectrometry chains, liquid scintillation counters, gas proportional counters, an ICP-MS, and a High-Resolution ICP-MS for metal analysis (uranium, thorium...).

Accredited by COFRAC according to ISO 17025, SMART holds 42 accreditations issued by the Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN), and is committed to a quality assurance approach guaranteeing the precision and reliability of results.
